01 — The Idea

A kitchen for the middle of the day.

The name comes from a borrowed line — a feast that travels with you, into a quiet office lunch, a Saturday errand, a tray on the counter for friends who didn't say they were coming.

We open a few hours a day, Tuesday through Saturday, and spend the rest of our time making the things we serve: stocks for the soup, dressings for the salad, dough for the bakery case. Nothing arrives prepared. Nothing leaves the same way it came in.

We're a small operation — bright, casual, and built for the way Lodi actually eats lunch. Stop in. Take it with you. Or call ahead and we'll meet you at the curb.

02 — Today's Table

What lunch looks like.

A rotating menu of seasonal sandwiches, scratch soups, composed salads, and the day's bakery — written on a chalkboard each morning.

i.

The Sandwich Board

Roasted meats, cured fish, garden vegetables — pressed, layered, or open-faced on bread we baked yesterday.

ii.

Soup of the Day

Stockpot first, season second. A long-simmered bowl that changes with what the morning brought in.

iii.

Composed Salads

Crisp things, dressed things, grain things. Salads built like plates, not piles.

iv.

The Bakery Case

Galettes, scones, layered cakes, brown-butter cookies — whatever the ovens produced before the doors opened.

v.

Sides & Snacks

A small cup of soup. A wedge of quiche. A pickle plate. The things that round out a tray.

vi.

Catering, By Tray

Office lunches, showers, small gatherings — built from the same menu, scaled for the table you're setting.

Menus rotate. Call (209) 642‑1877 for today's specifics or to put in a takeout order.

04 — How We Serve

Three ways to eat with us today.

i.

Dine In

A bright, casual room — order at the counter, settle at a table, and let lunch be the slowest hour of your day.

ii.

Takeout

Call ahead and we'll pack it up. Most lunches are ready in about fifteen minutes — bakery items the moment you arrive.

iii.

Curbside Pickup

Tell us what you're driving when you call. We'll meet you at the curb on Kettleman so you don't have to leave the car.

·

Delivery

We don't deliver — but takeout's quick, and curbside is quicker. Give us a call when you're a few minutes out.

Catering Trays

Office lunches, showers, gatherings up to a couple dozen. Sandwich platters, salad bowls, bakery boxes — placed a day or two in advance.

The Direct Line

The fastest way to anything — orders, questions, what's on the chalkboard today — is the phone. (209) 642‑1877

The best review of a lunch place is going back the next week.

We're not chasing stars. We're here Tuesday through Saturday, the chalkboard changes most mornings, and the door is open by eleven. Come find a favorite — we'll save you a spot in the case.
